EBYA Soccer
Preseason Update #2
EBYA Soccer News
EBYA Soccer Families:

*If you missed our previous emails to the league, please visit ourLeague Updatespage.

We have just over a week until our season officially kicks off during the week of Labor Day! Practices will start the week of September 6 with first games on Saturday Sep 11. All team assignments, practice & game schedules will be communicated no later than Saturday Sep 4.

Team building is actively taking place with some divisions already sending out team assignments. If you have more than one player signed up, please be aware that team assignments will be completed for all age groups by next Saturday Sep 4.

If you receive a team assignment for one of your players, expect that it may take up to a week for the rest of your children to be assigned to a team. The biggest variable is usually volunteer coach availability - the longer it takes to assemble enough volunteer coaches, the longer the team assignments may take.

Please also note that with 850 kids participating this Fall, our league is full. Last-minute conflicts and requests for practice night changes may not be manageable once teams are assigned.

As we mentioned last week, we have another Union Group Outing coming up - Sunday, October 3 @ 4pm! The Philadelphia Union take on the Columbus Crew.
Reserve your discounted tickets early to ensure that EBYA Soccer families sit in the same block!Click hereto purchase discounted ($27) tickets in our EBYA block!

As always,a big thank you to all of our volunteers! We are an all-volunteer league and your commitment makes our league possible.

We have some useful notes below as we prepare to setup our divisions and assign players to teams. Please note that our most common questions & answers may be found in the FAQs on ourSoccer Parents page.
Communications and Expectations

* Get the app! We encourage all coaches and families to use theGameChangerTeam Managerapp for communication and scheduling
* Your child's division commissioner will send an introductory email within a few days
* Key dates are on ourSoccer Website. Over the next week, we will develop our division layouts based upon the number of players registered. With sufficient volunteers, we will be assigning players to teams during the weeks of August 9, 16, 23, and 30.If volunteers are lacking, team assignments will be delayed.
* Team assignments and schedules will be announced via automatic emails from our website
* Each team will have a weeknight practice at 6PM. Games are played on Saturdays with games beginning as early as 8AM and typically no games starting later than 3:30 PM. Practice start the week of Sep 6. First game day is Saturday, Sep 11.
* We also reserve Sundays for make-up games at the originally scheduled game time
* Look for weekly email blasts to the Soccer league on Friday afternoons with updates and info

Prepare for the Season

* All players must wear shin guards - you can often get them as part of a combo pack including cleats and a soccer ball at your local sports retailer. Helpful note - Socks are worn OVER your player's shin guards.
* Two highlighted rules within ourFAQs- earrings must be removedfor practices and games, and there is no heading the ball in practices or games, at any age level
* Sunday Make-up games - We only have Sundays available to makeup rain-outs - rained-out games will be rescheduled on a future Sunday at their originally scheduled game time.

* We encourage all wait listed kids 12 and under to participate in our EBYA Fall Baseball and Softball leagues
* We have also partnered with DARC to coordinate sessions of theirSoccer Shotsprogram to be hosted at Community Park this Fall

EBYA Soccer
Welcome!
EBYA Soccer News
Welcome to our EBYA Fall Soccer season!

The dip in temperatures this weekend has made us even more excited about Fall Soccer! And it's perfect timing for our EBYA Soccer <> Union Group Outing this evening @ 6pm at Subaru Park to see the Philadephia Union vs Chicago Fire FC. Catch the game on TV,Twitter, orFox Sports Radio!

Everything is ready to go with our season. Over the next few week's, we'll be building teams. Team assignments, practice & game schedules will be announced no later than Saturday September 4. Practices start the week of September 6 with first games on Saturday September 11.

Please look for an introductory communication from your child's division commissioner this upcoming week with high-level information and a request to fill any available volunteer roles!

**We do anticipate a need for many more volunteers this season.** Last year's Fall season had 60% of families volunteering for a role. This past Spring, that number fell to 30%. For our Fall 2021 season, only 15% of families have volunteered. Please step up & take on a volunteer role this season - you'll contribute to a great experience both for your child & hundreds of others in our program!

This season, we are continuing to implement thePositive Coaching Allianceprogram which includes meetings for all coaches and families. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend. Links will be sent out closer to the events:

Thur Aug 12 - Positive Coach Alliance - Double-Goal Coach Zoom Meeting - 7:30pm to 9:00pm -**Mandatory for all coaches

Thur Aug 19 - Positive Coach Alliance - Second Goal Parent Zoom Workshop - 7:30pm to 9:00pm -**Mandatory for all parents

And a big thank you to all of our volunteers! As previously emphasized, we are an all-volunteer league and your commitment makes our league possible.

Once again, we are all excited to get out on the fields and play soccer!

We have some useful notes below as we prepare to setup our divisions and assign players to teams. Please note that our most common questions & answers may be found in the FAQs on ourSoccer Parents page.
