Communications and Expectations
* Get the app! We encourage all coaches and families to use theDick's Team Manager appfor communication and scheduling * Your child's division commissioner will send an introductory email within a few days * Key dates are on ourSoccer Website. Over the next week, we will develop our division layouts based upon the number of players registered. With sufficient volunteers, we will be assigning players to teams during the weeks of March 15 and 22.If volunteers are lacking, team assignments will be delayed. * Team assignments and schedules will be announced via automatic emails from our website * Each team will have a weeknight practice at 6PM. Games are played on Saturdays with games beginning as early as 8AM and typically no games starting later than 3:30 PM. Practice start the week of April 12. First game day is Saturday, April 17. * We also reserve Sundays for make-up games at the originally scheduled game time * Look for weekly email blasts to the Soccer league on Friday afternoons with updates and info
Covid-19 Adjustments
Covid-19 Adjustments - Please be aware of the Covid-19 requirements for players, coaches, and spectators. No exceptions.
Each player, coach and referee will receive a temperature check using a non-contact thermometer. The check also requires review of Covid-19 symptoms and if a temperature higher than 100.4 is recorded or any symptoms are present - participation will not be permitted that day. A player who passes the check-in process can then join the action on the field. As of today - March 6, 2021 - Face masks are required for all players, coaches, volunteers, and spectators at all times. Based upon Government & Health Department Guidance, the exact mask requirement may change by the time our season opens - for example in our Fall season, players & officials were not required to wear masks during active play. As of today however, everyone in attendance at the park for EBYA Soccer practices & games should expect to wear a face mask the entire time. Players who test positive at any point during the season must report the positive result to EBYA. Players must test negative or complete their quarantine in order to return. This season will require league-wide attention to social distancing, mask requirements, and hygiene so that we can comply with East Brandywine township requirements at the park. As such, our league will need more volunteers. In addition to any additional coaching needs, you will also likely see requests for additional Temperature Screening Volunteers - to screen for temperature and Covid-19 symptoms for players, coaches and referees prior to practices & games.
Prepare for the Season
* All players must wear shin guards - you can often get them as part of a combo pack including cleats and a soccer ball at your local sports retailer. Helpful note - Socks are worn OVER your player's shin guards. * Two highlighted rules within ourFAQs- earrings must be removedfor practices and games, and there is no heading the ball in practices or games, at any age level * Sunday Make-up games - We only have Sundays available to makeup rain-outs - rained-out games will be rescheduled on a future Sunday at their originally scheduled game time. * We do not make-up games if cancelled due to snow
Hey Coaches!
* We provide practice plans viaYouthSoccer101.comto simplify your coaching experience. This season the program will also include an online video training series. * We will offer several coaching clinics targeted to our younger divisions. Keep an eye out for the scheduling announcements * All coaches must submit a background check. Details are on ourSafety Info page ** If you have any questions about coaching or volunteering, please email us:[email protected]
Wait Lists
* Although we've activated as many wait-listed players as possible, we do not expect to have spots open up for all of the kids on our wait list this season due to our league's limited capacity * We encourage all wait listed kids 12 and under to participate in our EBYA Spring Baseball and Softball leagues. * We have also partnered with DARC to coordinate sessions of theirSoccer Shotsprogram to be hosted at Community Park this Spring
Division Formats and Tentative Game Schedule Info
* Game times are staggered with sufficient time between games on each field to assist with parking as well as ingress and egress
