Cal Ripken Baseball Division - Ages 4-12

Keeping baseball FUN-especially in the early stages of youth baseball-is a primary concern of Babe Ruth League's Cal Ripken Division, which is comprised of the following divisions:

Majors (ages 11-12): The most experienced level of Cal Ripken Baseball, recommended for 11 and 12 year old players. Cal Ripken Baseball is played under the Official Baseball Rules, but implements some special rules as necessary for the development and welfare of this young age group. Under the Major Division, there are two formats, the Major/70 and Major/60 divisions. In both formats, games consist of six innings. In order to encourage the league to train more pitchers, there are rules that set the maximum number of innings a pitcher may pitch in a calender week.

Minors (ages 9-10): Recommended for ballplayers ages 9-10. Players build and refine their fundamental skills while beginning to understand game strategy and teamwork. In most regions, participants first experience post-season tournament competition in this level, leading to the 10 Year-Old World Series.

Rookies (ages 7-8): Designed primarily for ballplayers ages 7-8, this division makes use of a pitching machine to allow for more hittable balls at the plate and more action in the field. Fear of actually being hit by a pitched ball is diminished. It makes the game safer and improves the playing confidence and ability of all participants.

Quickball (ages 4-6): Ballplayers ages 4-6 learn baseball fundamentals in a supportive team environment. Proven much more exciting and beneficial than t-ball, Quickball is a high-speed, low-pressure baseball training sport — a hybrid program for all ages that teaches but doesn't dictate. Mixing physically-active game play with individual accomplishment and style, Quickball is revolutionizing baseball programming for young players.

2020 Baseball Winter Clinics

We've all been there, caught completely off guard by our local baseball league's pre-season evaluation day.  You know the one, the evaluation takes place indoors somewhere in what seems like the dead of Winter and it totally sneaks up on your calendar.

With temperatures recently in the 30's and 40's, it is especially hard to imagine that baseball evaluation days will be happening all over the area in just another month or so.  And many of us will again experience the "hurry-up, dig the baseball glove and bat out of the closet, dust them off, and then hope to be in mid-season form within 15 minutes."

This year, why not dust off the baseball equipment a few weeks early and attend EBYA Baseball's indoor pre-season skills sessions?  Then, instead of being caught off guard, players will be ready for EBYA's evaluation day on March 1st and, even more - they'll get a leg up on the start of the baseball season.

With the help of experienced and knowledgeable baseball coaches, your child can work off the rust and brush up on the skills of the game - before evaluation day - and have fun doing it!!

Players will be grouped according to age, and they will participate in age and skill-appropriate drills, as well as fun contests, all designed to help them get ready for the baseball season.

Register today for EBYA Baseball's indoor winter clinics, as spots are limited, and they are expected to fill quickly.
